NL - Nina Aerts maakt tekeningen, cartoons en het occasionele kunstwerk.
Het ambacht van tekenen is haar heel erg lief: het geluid, de geur en de directe waarheid van potlood, verf of inkt op papier of karton. Hoewel ze soms ook digitaal (be)werkt, maakt ze haar illustraties liefst analoog; papier, potlood, gomsel, snippers en verfvlekken sieren haar tekentafel - en meestal ook haar vingers en kleren.
Wat ze maakt heeft alles te maken met wie ze is: een vrolijke melanchool, een rationele dromer, een weloverwogen liefhebber van absurditeit. Iemand die heel lang nadenkt om dan impulsief te beslissen. Scrupuleus verzamelaar van onafgevinkte todo-lijstjes. Maar vooral: nieuwsgierig en altijd afgeleid door al het moois in de wereld, waarvan ze zo veel als mogelijk wil bewaren.

She loves the craft of drawing: the sound, the smell and the directness of pencil, paint or ink on paper or cardboard. Although she sometimes (also) works digitally, she prefers to make her illustrations analog; paper, pencil, gumsel, scraps and paint stains adorn her drawing board - and usually her fingers and clothes.
What she makes has everything to do with who she is: a cheerful melancholic, a rational dreamer, a deliberate lover of absurdity. Someone who thinks for a very long time and then decides impulsively. Scrupulous collector of unfinished to-do lists.
But above all: curious and always distracted by all the beauty in the world, of which she wants to preserve as much as possible.
